Our first LPA event

Yesterday we went to our very first LPA ( Little People of America) event. It was a picnic up at Spring Mountain Ranch, which happens to be really close to our house. We had a great time and met wonderful people! Sam had a lot of fun making new friends and Anaïs was such a success!!
It was a very enriching experience for all of us. It felt so nice to talk to people who know exactly what we are going through and who understand the joys and challenges of raising a child with dwarfism. Sam hung out with a 14 year old girl, Rachel, and had a blast. Rachel has achondroplasia, just like Anaïs. I am very excited about this Vegas chapter and we are looking forward to attending many more events!
Unfortunately, I only took one picture.

This is a picture of Sam with 14 year old Rachel.

And I just had to post this picture of Anaïs because it is so funny! I put on her Sam's Minnie Mouse sunglasses!

Thanks for the comment on my blog!! I, at one time spoke fluent French--after living there when I was a missionary, mais apres de temp, j'ai oblie. I don't have too many opportunities to use it in Northern VA!

We haven't been to an LPA event yet...my son has hypo.

How exciting! Our Dallas chapter hasn't done anything since July, but it feels good to go and meet people. Anais looks so cute in those glasses!!

I'm so glad that you had a great time at the LPA event. I can still remember ours - it was the October Pumpkin Patch trip, 3 years ago. Our chapter is so warm and welcoming to the new families. I always look forward to our next event, which luckily is just about every other month. I love the glasses on Anais! Too cute!

Anais is too funny, the look on her face with those glasses!!! How cool that you got to an event, the WV chapter is inactive and has been since before we joined, apparently, so we haven't made it to an event yet. Glad Sam had a good time!

Did someone say spring regional in Vegas? We're there!
On a serious note, the people we have met through our chapter have been wonderful and what a great resource. I hope you'll have many more great experiences with your chapter.
