Anaïs is in her helmet!

As most of you already knew, we decided to go ahead and give cranioplasty a try for Anaïs' head flattening. She has been in her helmet for about a week now and she is doing really well, it doesn't seem to bother her. The only thing is that she gets really hot, she sweats like crazy with it. Kids with achondroplasia have a tendency to sweat a lot more than average size kids. Right, now her doctor is telling us to put on the helmet as long as she can tolerate it and she'll eventually be wearing it all day long and at night too. I am thinking that by this week-end she'll be wearing it 23 hours a day like she's supposed to.

Here is the company we are going through:
They have been wonderful! The entire staff is so friendly and so good with Anaïs, I would recommend them to anyone who has a baby with head flattening (plagiocephaly).

Hoorah! Glad to hear it's going well so far! Did you ever manage to get the insurance company to help pay for it?

Alex, I'm glad to hear that it's going well so far! That's great at Anais doesn't mind wearing the helmet! I know that Caitlyn would have put up a HUGE fight! She has such a great smile - I love that last picture of her!

even with the helmet, she is still so cute. Just out of curiosity, you said 23 hours a day. WHat's the other hour for?
