Christmas is coming!!

Today, we decorated our house an put our Christmas tree up. I am pretty happy with the results and I think Sam is thrilled. She told me, "mom our house is so gorgeous that Santa will for sure want to come!"...all that in french of course! LOL

I think Anaïs enjoyed looking at all the lights on the tree.
I just love taking pictures of them together...Sam is so in love with her sister, it makes me melt every time I see her holding Anaïs!
We stayed home today and did NOT go shopping! :) It actually felt so nice to stay home...we have been so busy lately. I can't believe we are leaving again on Sunday to go to Salt Lake for a week. Anaïs has her first appointment with Shriners on Monday, I am pretty excited to see what they have to say.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone out there had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had a great time. We were invited at our friends' house, it was so great to be with our friends. The food was delicious and we had a wonderful time! Michelle was a wonderful hostess, look how cute the kids' table was!

Can you believe how much food we had? Everything was delicious!!

Of course, Sam's favorite part was to eat cupcakes!!

Anaïs had fun too! She was awake almost the entire day!
Also, I am sorry but I did put some Christmas music on my blog!! LOL I know it drives some people crazy, but I just LOVE Christmas!

Thanksgiving Feast at Sam's school

Today was Thanksgiving Feast at Sam's school. We got to eat turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy and apple crumble...it was pretty good! First, Sam had to show off her VIP poster one more time. ;)

Then, the kids dressed up as native Americans and wore a paper costume they had made for the occasion. They were VERY proud of their work.
When it was time to go outside, Sam was the line leader since she's the VIP this week. She takes her VIP job very seriously, she loves being in charge!!

We had lunch outside, the temperature was perfect.

After lunch, it was time to clean up and Sam enjoyed helping her teacher.

The most exciting thing about being the VIP is that they get to take Mona Lisa (the guinea pig) home for the week-end. Since we are going to Salt Lake this week-end for a whole week, Sam got to take her home today...how fun is that? She insisted to have Mona Lisa's cage in her bedroom with her tonight.

Another week-end in California!

My friend Gooya has a house in Los Angeles and invited us and some other friends to spend the week-end there. We had such a great time, I think it was a great week-end for the kids AND the grown-ups, we all had fun!
On Saturday, we went to the Los Angeles zoo where the kids had a lot of fun. There were all kinds of animals and the kids got to brush and pet some goats, which was for sure Sam's favorite moment.

That night, we went to this AMAZING outdoor shopping center in Los Angeles called Americana. I seriously could spend all day long there and do some serious damage! LOL
It was so pretty there, they had so many Christmas decorations and lights, they even had fake snow falling off the sky. Needless to say Sam loved the snow!

Then, on Sunday we went to Malibu...I loved it! We bought some food and ate at the beach. The weather was really nice and it was so relaxing. I think even Anaïs enjoyed being at the beach. She was such an angel the entire week-end.

Here is a video of Anaïs at the beach. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO STOP THE MUSIC AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE BEFORE YOU VIEW THE VIDEO.
What a great week-end! It made me want to live in California and be near the beach. It would be so much fun to be able to go to the beach any day we felt like it. I think we are planning on going back for a week-end in the Laguna Hills area when my mom comes for the holidays.

On a different note, this week Sam is the VIP in her class at school. They have a different VIP every week and they get to assist the teacher, sit in a special spot during circle time and take Mona Lisa (the class' guinea pig) home for the week-end. This morning Sam was very proud to pose for a picture in front of her VIP poster.

Anaïs is in her helmet!

As most of you already knew, we decided to go ahead and give cranioplasty a try for Anaïs' head flattening. She has been in her helmet for about a week now and she is doing really well, it doesn't seem to bother her. The only thing is that she gets really hot, she sweats like crazy with it. Kids with achondroplasia have a tendency to sweat a lot more than average size kids. Right, now her doctor is telling us to put on the helmet as long as she can tolerate it and she'll eventually be wearing it all day long and at night too. I am thinking that by this week-end she'll be wearing it 23 hours a day like she's supposed to.

Here is the company we are going through:
They have been wonderful! The entire staff is so friendly and so good with Anaïs, I would recommend them to anyone who has a baby with head flattening (plagiocephaly).

We had a great time...and took so many pictures!

We are back from our Monterey vacation and we had so much fun! Thank you so much Sarah! ;)
We did so many fun things. The first day, we went shopping in Carmel. I love Carmel, it is such a cute place. It was kind of cold that day though and it even rained, Sam loved the rain. Poor Sam, she never gets to see the rain here in Vegas!

The second day, we went to the aquarium in Monterey. This was our third time going there but we love it everytime we go! There are so many great things for the kids to see there. I think Sam's favorite part was being able to touch a starfish, she had a blast.

Also, when we were there, Sarah had a princess party for Meg's birthday. The kids got to wear princess dresses and make magic wands with pretzels and pink chocolate. Cal (Sarah's son) was so funny, he was like"it's all girl stuff!", but I have to say that he was such a trooper about it! He got to wear his Batman costume so that made everything ok! ;)

Then, we went to two different beaches. Here are pictures of Still Water Cove in Pebble Beach. The kids had a lot of fun exploring there!

I love this picture of Sam's feet... :)

And on the last day, we went to Lovers' Point beach in Pacific Grove. The weather was amazing that day and the kids even got in the water.

As you can see, we had a great time with our friends! I can't wait for next time! Thank you again for having us Sarah.
