Graduation and birthday party!

Today was Sam's graduation...this school year went by so fast! The kids had a little ceremony in the classroom, I can't believe how grown up they all looked compared to the beginning of the year. Here is Sam walking in, she was pretty nervous. Singing the national anthem:
Playing recorder:
Sam and her best friend. It breaks my heart to see these guys say goodbye to each other.
Sam and her teacher Mrs Vargas:
My sweet girl ready to go to 1st grade!

Then, this afternoon we had the big birthday party for both Sam and Anaïs with all our friends.

They both got so many presents!!!

I think it was a great party overall. It was great to see all our friends before the move but it was so sad to say goodbye. We are very lucky to have such wonderful friends and I know we have build strong friendships here in Vegas. Thank you everyone for being our friends and for celebrating the girls' birthday with us!

A special day for a special girl!

Today Sam turned 6...I can't believe it!!! Time goes by way too fast! This girl holds such a special place in my heart, I love her so much. I am so proud of her for being such a good person...she really is. She has such a good heart.
This morning, before school we gave her the presents we got for her and she was very excited! Then, this afternoon I brought cupcakes to school so she could celebrate her birthday with her classmates.

Then, from school we had her best friend go home with us. They played at home for a while and then we went out to dinner. She was very surprised when the waitress brought her a special birthday dessert.

After dinner I took her and her friend to see Shrek. Since we were early we went to the arcade to play some games before the movie.

This was Sam's first time seeing a movie in 3D, she loved it!

I think the birthday girl had a very fun day!
Tomorrow is the actual birthday party for her and Anaïs, since Anaïs' birthday is coming up too. She also has her graduation ceremony at school...seriously I can't believe she is 6 and getting ready to start first grade!!!
Happy birthday Sam!!!

Going away...

It's almost here...we are moving this week-end! It is such a bitter-sweet situation!!! I am very excited to get to see Jeff every day and live like a normal family again! I am also pretty excited about living in Park City...hopefully we will make an offer on a townhome this week and it will work out. BUT I am soooooo sad to leave Vegas and my friends!!! I have enjoyed living here so much and we have spent such great moments here. I know I have made lifelong friends here! I will try and come as often as I can, that's a promise. ;)

Mudrun!

On Saturday, my girlfriends and I ran a race called the Mudrun. You have to run 4 miles and do a couple obstacles. At the end, you have to crawl through a mudpit...yes, this is fun for us! LOL There was a lot of uphill running which was hard but I seriously had a blast and can't wait to do it again next year!

Here we are crawling through the mud:

Our little movie night.

Last Saturday, Sam and I had a little movie night at home. Since Jeff was out of town this week-end, I had promised her we could do something special. If you know me, you know how early I put my kids to bed, school night or not, so staying up late was so exciting and special for Sam. She kept on asking me if it was midnight. LOL
First we had to go buy our treats because I really don't keep anything like that in the house. We also bought a DVD that she picked out. Here is our little stash. She picked out the movie Aliens in the Attic. Jeff took her to see it when it came out and she really wanted me to see it.

It was a fun moment I am glad we shared.

Sam's science fair.

Today was a big day for Sam. Her science project was due and she had to demonstrate it at her school's science fair. She did a project about surface tension with milk, food coloring and dish soap. Here she is this morning right before leaving the house for school.
Little miss Anaïs wanted her picture taken too...she kept on screaming "eeeeeee", her version of "cheeeese". LOL
Sam's class right before the science fair.
Here she is in front of her display, she was very proud.
She did great demonstrating her experiment, although she was a little nervous.

She felt better when she was done!

Then, we went back in the class room for some pizza. Anaïs ate a full slice of cheese pizza and was very excited about that...although she looks crazy on this picture. LOL
