She did it!

Anais is done! She got out of the hospital today. The doctors said she was doing amazingly good considering the major surgery she just had. It really is amazing, she's pretty much back to normal and I can't believe she had her surgery just 3 days ago, she recovered so well!
The doctors did an MRI yesterday to check that the surgery worked and they said everything looks fine. We have to go back in 2 weeks to X Rays of her neck as a follow up. I am SO glad we are taking her to Primary's Children Hospital in Salt Lake, it is really worth the drive. Everyone there has been amazing with her and I really trust the doctors there.
Also, I am happy to say that she was approved for Shriners, I am pretty excited about that.
Anyway, the doctors said that it was totally fine for us to drive back to Vegas tomorrow, I can't wait to get home. Here are a couple pictures taken at the hospital.

This was taken when she was still at the NICU. Her face was pretty swollen from the surgery and they kept her breathing tube in out of precaution.

This was yesterday, as you can see she was already doing so much better!!

And this was today right before we left. She was in a pretty good mood. The nurse put a little bow in her hair...how cute is that?

Glad to hear she's doing so well! That last pic with the bow in her hair was adorable - you can really see her personality in it!

So if you guys are heading home, you'll actually be back when I'm up there next weekend! I'm not sure if I'll have any time, and the wife and kids unfortunately won't be there, but I'll be there from Thursday through Sunday for the events I'm working. We'll see!

I'm so glad she is doing well. It is so hard to see our little babies in the hospital.

She is just adorable!

So happy to hear she is doing so great! That is exciting she will be going to Shriners. My Great Grandfather was really big into Shriners in Los Angeles and I've heard good things about it! Cole goes to Scottish Rite which is similar to Shriners and we love it!

We are glad to hear that she is doing well! I added you because our little one also has achondroplasia and mike gave me the link to your page. You page is really helpful to me right now because lilah, our little one is going to be having the same/similar procedure in a few weeks. Your strength and love for your little one and family is very inspiring to us!

I have to say I just logged onto your site from “”what is normal” and it is like looking in a mirror. My name is Randi and I live in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada ( up by Alaska) and my daughter Sarah (Achon) has just had a decompression surgery on June 20, 2008 and we are off to the doctors this week for a follow up. I have a daughter Maddison (AH) who is 3 ½ years old and loves her sister soooooo much. We are off to have a follow up MIR to make sure nothing has grown back and another sleep study to see if her apnea has improved. Although this may seem odd, I am so glad to read your blog, that I am not the only one with the same emotions. I am so happy to hear that your daughter is well. I hope all the best for you and your family! Randi Cave

Hi Randi,
thank you for reading my blog. Do you have a blog? It does make it easier to know that other people are going through the same things.
