Busy week-end!

We had a pretty busy week-end. On Saturday, I ran my very first race, a 5K. Besides the fact that it was raining pretty hard, it went well. My time was 30:59 which I'm ok with considering this was my first race EVER. Here is an action shot: That evening we had the Valentine's LPA party. We had a wonderful time, as always!

Sam got to decorate cookies and do a craft, she was busy the entire time we were there!

Here is Anaïs and her good friend Destiny. They are only 2 weeks apart in age and both have achondroplasia, they are pretty lucky to have each other!

Then, on Sunday Sam and I had a playdate with her best friend from school, Kylee. Since it was too cold for the park, we went to McDonald's for an ice cream cone that way they got to play in the playplace there. Sam had so much fun!

That's pretty much it for the week-end. Jeff is already back in Salt Lake for work and the girls and I drive up on Wednesday since Anaïs has her MRI an Friday...hopefully it will be good and we can be done with surgeries and medical appointments for a while!

Today, Sam had her very first spelling test at school. She worked hard to get ready for it and was a little nervous before school today.
Well, she did great, she got 100%!! Great job Sam!! We are so proud of you!

I just want to remember this...

Today Sam and I were helping Anaïs crawl up the stairs. You could tell it was hard work for her so I said to Sam: "this is really hard for her you know" and Sam tells me "yes, it might be a good exercise for her to do at the physical fairy" LOL!!! You mean PHYSICAL THERAPY Sam!!
I love you Sam!!
I want to remember all these cute little things she says!

100th day of school.

To learn how to count to 100, the kids in Sam's class have been counting down the days to the 100th day of school since the beginning of the school year. Well, the day finally came!
To celebrate the 100th day, the kids had to bring 100 small items to share with their classmates. Sam decided to bring Goldfish crackers. Here she is this morning before school with her 100 items. Then, this afternoon they had a classroom party.

Sam was very excited, she had been waiting for this day for quite a while now. :)

Yesterday we went on a walk up at Calico Basin but Sam decided she was "too tired" to walk...so much for going on a walk. lol

It is so pretty up there, I just love it!

Anaïs' new favorite thing to do...

...is to look at Sam when she's taking her bath. They had so much fun doing that tonight, I could hear them laugh so hard from the other room.

This afternoon we met our friends to go eat a frozen treat, the kids loved it...and so did we. ;)

Now...putting a white shirt on Anaïs was NOT a smart idea. lol

Just playing...

The girls had dinner early tonight so I let them play a little afterwards before bedtime. They had a good time. Sam chased Anaïs and she loved it!! Look at her face, she was laughing so hard. I love it when they laugh and giggle together. Then, it got a little more complicated. Sam was playing with her Barbie computer and of course Anaïs wanted it too...

Yep...she was not happy when Sam wouldn't let her see it. LOL

But thankfully they made up almost right away... :)

Tonight, I really wanted Sam to finish all her homework for the week so she could enjoy some free time with Jeff tomorrow night. Well...someone decided to make it hard for her to focus! lol
Anaïs wanted to grab all Sam's markers and her homework pages and had to be right in the middle of everything!

Better late than never!

These last couple weeks have been so busy that I didn't get a chance to post pictures from Chritmas eve. In our family, we celebrate Christmas on the 24th and open presents on Christmas eve. That is how I grew up and I have such wonderful memories of that. Sam wanted to make sure that we left a cookie for Santa and some carrots for the reindeer by the tree. They were pretty excited when Santa secretly brought the presents while we were upstairs putting our PJ's on. This Santa (or Père Noël as we call him in french)...he is always so sneaky and manages to come without us seeing him! ;)

What a great Christmas! I just wished we could have spent it with my family!

Let it snow!

For the last two days we have been getting a lot of snow! Sam loves it, especially being so close to Christmas! Here she is today playing in front of our place in Salt Lake.



I wanted to get a picture of both girls in the snow, but as you can see in the picture Anaïs wasn't into it...LOL

Also, two days ago Sam and I made a gingerbread house while Anaïs was taking her nap.

We had the satellite radio on the dance/electronic channel when we heard a remix of Hannah Montana's song Party in the USA. Of course Sam started to dance. ;)
